El Paso, Texas based Therapist My desire to help others began from young age, while growing up in the foster care system. In foster care I took control of my life and transformed what was a difficult experience into a life changing, life building opportunity. I became a trained advocate for young people in foster. Later co-founded an organization to help young people successfully transition out of foster care. Our goal was to empower, and gain a voice with those in power making decisions impacting their life. This work took me all over the United States and overseas as a change agent. After several years in the helping, teaching, training and counseling incredible, resilient young adults, my life took another direction. Motherhood, family and earning my advance degrees led to working with college students and women. In this work I counseled young adults facing dealing with life stress. Helping those battling depression, anxiety and various mental health disorders. While life transitions, motherhood and ties to the military opened the doors to work with Soldiers and veterans from diverse backgrounds, experiences and challenges. In between this I also earned my certification as a licensed minister working with those interested in exploring the connection between their faith and the stress they are facing. My experience spans working with teens to elderly, those who have experienced trauma, war inside and out, sexual abuse, addictions and struggling to rebuild your life because of divorce, disappointment or discontent. The ability to encourage, guide and help others transform their thinking, get results and become emotionally well is what I love to do. |
